essageI don't think I am getting the dupes here? Either that, or they are showing up a day or more later and I am not noticing.
They're not considered dupes, because one of the messages are altered so bad you don't even realize it's a dupe until you read the actual content of the message. If you care to check, these two MSGIDs are, in fact, the same
but the second one was altered so much it would never be detected as a dupe:
That is sort of what I meant. I am not reading any messages here that
look like "repeats." I am also not seeing my posts come back days later, yet anyway. ;)
I have this echo set up with Duplicate Checking - Enabled (1000 CRC) so maybe that helps? My understanding is that the CRC checking also catches messages where the MSGID has been altered but the content is similar enough.

The only way for you to see them would be to find those two MSGIDs (if
you have them).

I honestly don't think any dupe checking mechanism whatsoever, would detect these two messages as dupes. Only maybe half of the message body itself, as you say, looks like a "repeat".

did you see the post where i said 'is there an echo in here'
rixter has a dupe right here https://vert.synchro.net/?page=001-forum.ssjs&sub=sync&thread=54028
this dupe shit has been going on for years on and off.
now apparently marc refuses to fix it and thinks it's someone else.
Yes, I saw your post, and I don't doubt that some people are seeing dupes.
I am only suggesting there might be a way, via a configuration change, to not
see them since they are not getting here.

what do you mean 'not getting here' i just showed you an example of how it
getting here.
maybe you just had a bad packet and that's why you didnt get it. happens to
sometimes.
If it is such a big problem, I doubt I am getting that many bad packets to where I am not seeing them at all.
I am not currently receiving any duplicates.

The dupes from the Fido->newsgate are pretty rare. You might not even notice.

Would having your CRC dupe check set help against these at all?
I thought it might but it sounds like it might not?

It would not because the body text is being substatially modified by newsgate.

his msg areas are a big mess. he takes all the echos from various ftns and groups them up into genres. so he probably just can't find the dupes.
As I said before, I set the bbs up for users and not sysops. While you complain that there are no users, I have at least a handful so I am not doing too bad. Most of them don't care what network an area comes from, just as long as it is on topic and active.
As for other things that you think are my fault, I am not the one who set
up your "Denn" filter wrong which kept you from seeing the message(s) from Sean Dennis telling you that you were being removed from his network.
Since I gave your system time to pick those messages up before cutting you off, and since I didn't set up (or, at that time, even know about) your
off, and since I didn't set up (or, at that time, even know about) your broken filter, I fail to see where it was my fault that you "didn't know" despite several warnings from Sean.

if you say so. a mess is a mess.

i didnt see it because i wasn't reading the msg network.

you didnt give me time for shit. you could have told me you cut me off, but i dont give a shit anyways.

why are you even talking about this shit here? i'm talking about how your msg bases are a huge mess for you and your users.
i dont care about micronet. it's boring and it's ran by a loser who jacks off to cartoons. he gave his whole disability check to this woman who pretends to be a cartoon dragon on twitc
fuck off, and fix your messy msg bases. you cant even find msgs in your own bbs.
